How Does Billing Work ?
All of our managed service solutions break down your expenses with a one-time setup fee, recurring user subscriptions, direct GCP service costs, and optional add-on services. Fluid Numerics has develop three products (minimal, operational, and enterprise) that combine common infrastructure design elements and support services. Additionally, we offer a fully customizable solution where we help you design the system that is right for your team.
Fluid Numerics Services
For all solutions, one-time and recurring subscription fees, including initial setup, user subscriptions, and add-on services are billed together from Fluid Numerics at the start of your billing cycle. Your organization can choose monthly, quarterly, or annual billing cycles during onboarding. Adjustments to monthly subscriptions, such as user seat subscriptions, can be made at any time upon your request.
Google Cloud Platform Services
To pay for Google Cloud Platform services, your organization buys into credits with Fluid Numerics. These credits are applied on a monthly basis to pay for GCP services that are associated only with your organization's account. Each month, all unused credits rollover to the next month, at no cost. The minimum credit balance required varies with your product SKU and maximum GCP vCPU, GPU, and disk quotas. Any remaining credits at the end of your managed service contract are refunded after applying refund processing fees.
Billing Components
One-Time Setup
All of our Managed Cloud-HPC solutions have a one-time setup fee that covers contracting and billing setup, initial user onboarding, and initial cluster configuration launch and testing. During the Cloud-HPC Cluster setup, we work with both business and technical points of contact at your organization to ensure the HPC cluster and accompanying Cloud infrastructure meets technical and business requirements.
User Subscriptions
Every user on your cluster is provided with a Cloud Identity account under fluidnumerics.com. Fluid Numerics manages your teams' POSIX Account profiles and Identity and Access Management (IAM) Policies to help ensure your resources are accessed only by authorized users. Additionally, HPC System Administrators, Standard Users, and Billing Administrators all have access to User Support Services to provide public assistance through our community support forum and private assistance related to Google Cloud Platform Infrastructure & Billing, Quota management, and Capacity Planning.
Direct GCP Service Costs
Fluid Numerics passes all of the compute, network, and storage expenses from Google Cloud Platform directly to your organization. This allows you to pay for only the resources you use and enables you to take advantage of all of Google Cloud Platform's cost saving features including sustained use discounts and preemptible compute instances. Fluid Numerics can also help you capacity plan and set up committed use discounts to help you further save on expected compute costs.
Add-On Services
Out-of-the-box, Fluid Numerics provides support for maintaining your infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. Optional Add-On Services can help you get the most out of your cluster, optimize your cloud spend, and accelerate your time-to-science. Add-On Services can be requested at any time as a bolt-on component to an existing Managed Cloud-HPC Cluster subscription.
